We are very honored that 350 participants from ca. 40 countries registered to our event, and 230 of them came in person.
We had a very packed program including 5 plenary, 20 invited, 85 oral and 135 poster contributions. We had a special JTAC Forum workshop, where we could plan the future of JTAC together with you.
During the meeting, the JTAC Scientific Excellence Award (Dr. Chi-Min Shu, Taiwan), the JTAC Young Scientist Award (Dr. Rahim Zahedi, Iran) and the JTAC Best Reviewer Award (Dr. Éder T.G. Cavalheiro, Brazil) were handed over. To support young scientists, 3 JTACC-V4 Travel Grants were also provided (Ahmed Waqar, China; Jaison Jeevanandam, Portugal; Mehrdad Mesgarpour, Thailand).
There were several already well-known innovative solutions at this meeting, like the digital poster session, which proved to be very popular among all participants, and the conference mobile application.
The Conference Dinner was held at the HangVilla event center in Veszprém, one of the cultural capitals of Europe this year. JTAC quiz, classical music concert and Hungarian folkdance show with dance teaching made the evening even more colorful.

JTACC-V4 Young Scientist Award / Travel Grants
Following the tradition of previous international conferences on thermal analysis and calorimetry, the Organization Committee of JTACC-V4 established the JTACC-V4 Young Scientist Award already in 2017. This award is given out also in 2023 to a young scientist who works in the field of thermal analysis and calorimetry and has achieved outstanding results contributing significantly to the development of the field. The winner of the Award will present his/her lecture at one of the Plenary Sessions. The Award consists of a plaque and covering the costs of Conference registration. Candidates must be under the age of 35 as of December 31, 2023.
The JTACC-V4 Travel Grants aim to enable bright and young scientists to attend the JTACC-V4 2023 meeting and thus motivate them to keep a continuing interest and activity in the fields of Thermal Analysis & Calorimetry. Three JTACC-V4 Travel Grants are given to outstanding young researchers. The Travel Grant consists of a plaque and covering the costs of Conference registration.
The decision on the JTACC-V4 Young Scientist Award and the three JTACC-V4 Travel Grants was done by the same board (i.e. chairs of the conference). The choice of the Travel Grant recipients are based on the ranking order obtained for the JTACC-V4 Young Scientist Award.

JTAC Scientific Excellence Award
The Editorial Board of the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry established an Award of Excellence for a person who – in the judgement of the Scientific Committee of the JTAC-V4 Conference – has made an outstanding contribution to the development of thermal analysis and calorimetry. The Award consists of a plaque (diploma), the opportunity to deliver a plenary speech and the exemption from payment for registration and accommodation. The Award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the Conference.
We are happy to announce that the JTAC Team has decided that in 2023 Prof. Chi-Min Shu (Taiwan) is the receiver of the Award. We are very thankful for all the help he have provided to JTAC throughout the decades, and we also highly acknowledge his outstanding scientific career.

The Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry has reached the 50th anniversary of its operation and this significant date was celebrarated within the 2nd JTAC Conference in Budapest this summer together with the V4 (Joint Czech-Hungarian-Polish-Slovakian) Thermoanalytical Conference.
The renowned scientific event has filled the conference rooms with 350 participants on site (530 registered participans), who represented more than 40 countries. There were several novelties introduced at this meeting, like the digital poster session which proved to be very popular among all participants, the conference mobile application and the online Q&A session moderator site (sli.do).
The Journal's 50th birthday was also celebrated with a festive gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, featured with JTAC birthday cake, JTAC quiz, Hungarian folkdance show with dance teaching afterwards, and party.
